Northern Faces is now premiering “Under My Skin” (live) on Diffuser.fm. This is the first in a three-part, live video series of the band performing at Metro in Chicago, IL, filmed by Made of Chalk, during their recent tour with RX Bandits. The two remaining videos will be revealed later this week on youtube.com/equalvision.
Two of the series’ songs - “Under My Skin” and “Finding Hope” - can both be found on the band’s debut EP, Southern Places, which Diffuser is also offering as a free full EP download, for a limited time only. The third and final video in the series is for a brand new, unreleased song called “Strange Place”.
The Albany, NY-based indie outfit features Marco Testa and Bryan Shortell on vocals and guitars, Matt Ippolito on bass, and Mike Ryan on drums. The band solidified their lineup in early 2012 after heading to an isolated cabin in Vermont to begin writing their debut effort. Free of technology and other daily distractions there, the band wrote the six songs that now comprise the Southern Places EP, which was released on March 5 through Equal Vision Records.
"Our live shows are our pride and joy," the band reveals. "We take a lot of pride in trying to put on a show that leaves a lasting impression on the audience…It’s our natural habitat. The stage really is our home."
Northern Faces' debut show was an opening slot for The Kooks and Royal Teeth in early 2012; And have since shared stages with The 1975, Say Anything, RX Bandits, Electric Guest, Civil Twilight, Futurebirds, Heartless Bastards and many more. The band is currently writing for their debut full-length album, will perform a trio of shows at CMJ in New York later this week. All upcoming tour dates can be found below.
