KAONASHI RELEASE ‘BLOOD RED CAMRY DANCE PARTY’ SINGLE

Today, Philadelphia, PA band Kaonashi have shared their captivating new single and video “Blood Red Camry Dance Party” out on Equal Vision Records. Never shy to experiment, the song is an all out pop banger highlighted by progressive guitar work and a triple vocal approach. On their full-length Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year (2021) the band began combining more melodious elements into their metalcore-leaning sound, and on “Blood Red Camry Dance Party” that direction comes to full fruition, drawing influence from acts like Motion City Soundtrack and Rina Sawayama.

The Aaron Palmer directed video follows the next saga of the band’s cinematic story of Lemon House High, which started on their 2018 EP, Why Did You Do It?, continuing the story of Jamie B. Moore, Casey Diamond, Morgan Montgomery, and their supporting characters. This time we find Jamie’s love interest Casey joyously buying her first car and the upbeat lyrics littered with clues for listeners who have followed the building saga. The track was written to fit Casey’s persona and as Kaonashi continues to revel in the story of Lemon House High, fans can expect a range of sounds with the band still creating the heavy-hitting tracks they’ve built on.

Speaking on the single, the band expand:
“With ‘Blood Red Camry Dance Party’ we wanted to write something specific for Casey Diamond, a fictitious high schooler introduced in our 2018 release Why Did You Do It?. The song illustrates Diamond buying her first car from the counselor of Lemon House, the high school she attends. It’s a very happy and exciting moment, so we wanted the music and lyrics to reflect that feeling. Matching the music to the character was a big goal for expanding upon our sound and the story. We’ve always considered Kaonashi to be a progressive band, and this is a progression of our sound.”

Kaonashi are currently in the midst of a full U.S. run with Hail The Sun, Being As An Ocean, and Origami Button. They’ll head to the United Kingdom for the first time in early September for a run of headline shows with support from Cauldron. The band will go on one of their most exciting journeys yet in October as they join aboard and perform on Coheed and Cambria’s S.S. Neverender cruise.
